Extension Wire Fracture Associated with Neck Pain of Deep Brain Stimulation

Abstract
We report a unique case of sequentially bilateral extension wire fractures associated with neck pain in a 31-year-old man with motor tics and long histories of involuntary movement of neck treated by pallidal deep brain stimulation. A clinician should not overlook that extension wire related problems in the implanted patients presenting with recurrent symptoms and neck pain.
