Abstract
Two cases of hardware failure of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) detected with regular impedance measurements are reported. Impedance of the electrical circuit of DBS system is easy to assess with physician's programmer. Hardware-related problems mostly necessitate another surgery and a new equipment. Patients also have to spend additional costs and hospital stays. The authors suggest systematic evaluation and consideration of hardware failure of DBS system.
Key Words: Impedance, Hardware failure.
