Vertigo in the Field of Neurosurgery

Abstract
Vertigo is a commonly met symptom from general physicians to specialist. Except peripheral vertigo as like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, vestibular neuritis, Meniere’ diseases, diagnosis of other syndromes of vertigo is obscure and difficult. Migrainous vertigo and vestibular paroxysmia are confounded with migraine and Meniere’s disease. Cerebrovascular disorders are presented vertigo as its first symptom in 3 to 7%. Cerebellar, brainstem, and genetic disease are also associated with vertigo. We describe the clinical syndromes of vertigo, pathophysiology of them, and treatment based on journal review.
