Abstract
Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is neuropathic facial pain characterized by severe, unilateral, paroxysmal pains in the face. Although many treatment approaches have been proposed, the most effective and acceptable method of treatment for the trigeminal neuralgia is a microvascular decompression (MVD) of trigeminal nerve. The authors review the role of MVD of trigeminal nerve for TN.
